MEMBERSHIP DUES

The Verdugo Woodlands West Homeowner’s Association has not raised the $20 annual membership dues since its inception 13 years ago except to ask for $25 for the first year of membership. Unfortunately, like all other organizations, the Association is facing ever increasing postage, printing, stationery, supplies and annual meeting costs.

Therefore, the Board of Directors increased annual membership dues from $20 to $25 effective in October, 2007. Formal notice of the increase was made in the October 2007 issue of the association newsletter.

New members joining at the Annual Meeting in October or later in a year will be charged a fee of $30. Five dollars will cover the time remaining in the current year and $25 will cover all of the following year.  In the second year after joining, the new member will be randomly assigned to one of the Association’s quarterly billing periods and the subsequent annual dues will be $25.

Dues notices are mailed in January, April, July and October and the intent is to send dues notices to approximately one quarter of the membership in each period. Members who do not respond to the first dues request will be sent a second request 3 months later. Members who do not respond to the second request will be removed from the list of active members.

If you have any questions or comments regarding this dues increase, please send an email to info@vwwhoa.org

Members, if you have not already done it, please send your email address to info@vwwhoa.org

Email is the quickest and most economical way for the association to contact our membership should the need arise.

Verdugo Woodlands West is a beautiful residential area in north-eastern Glendale. It encompasses the area West of Verdugo Road, South of Oakmont Country Club, and North of Verdugo Park. It is nestled in a lush valley between the Verdugo Mountains on the West and the San Rafael Hills to the East. The Woodlands is named for and filled with a wonderful combination of trees including California Live Oak, Evergreen, Jacaranda, Sycamore, and Palm. It has a rich Spanish, Mexican and American history dating from 1784. The oldest existing structure, the Catalina Verdugo Adobe, was constructed around 1860.

The homeowners of the Verdugo Woodlands are proud of their neighborhood and they have created this Homeowners Association to help keep the Woodlands a wonderful place to live, to raise children and to call home.
