Annual Meeting

We meet a requirement of our By laws which states that we are to conduct a meeting of our members at least annually.

Our Association’s annual meeting/membership drive is held in October at the Catalina Verdugo Adobe. This confluence of Woodlanders has expanded to include a catered meal for members whose dues are current, updates on community concerns and achievements, terrific door prizes, and a 50/50 drawing. The newsletter announcing this event is sent to the 1,000 + households in the Woodlands. This is an opportunity to stay informed, connect with your neighbors and at the same time have a grand time! We never fail to increase our membership at this event.

Wine Tasting

This has become an anticipated annual gathering for Woodland adults who have learned about and enjoyed various California wines in a friendly and informal atmosphere. Traditionally held in June in a member’s back yard, a local vintner displays and presents various California wines for our tasting. Delicious and varied appetizers are provided by Board members – and from anyone else who offers!  Our Annual Wine Tasting Event w

National Night Out at the beautiful Catalina Verdugo Adobe

What is National Night Out (NNO)? It’s an annual nationwide event held the first Tuesday in August. The Verdugo Woodlands West Homeowners Association has organized our neighborhood for the past couple of years with much success. Our local police and fire departments visit with our community at the beautiful historic Catalina Verdugo Adobe. The purpose is to foster and enhance relationships among neighbors, raise crime prevention awareness and strengthen our interactions with their departments.

For your enjoyment we have food trucks, live music, face painting or balloons made into wonderful creations for all ages to enjoy, and of course tours of the historic Catalina Verdugo Adobe.

Past Glendale Chief of Police Raul M. Castro once said: “Members of the Glendale Police Department understand that only through strong community support and participation can we reduce crime and Improve safety and security for residents.”

Hope to see you this August!

While the City of Glendale allows dogs on leash in the Adobe, many small children and some adults are not comfortable around them, so please take that into consideration in your decision on whether to bring your pet.  All of us want to make sure that everyone has a great time at the event!

Additional Meetings

Verdugo Woodlands Homeowners Association has hosted ad hoc meetings e.g., we have hosted the Glendale Police Dept. officers who patrol our area as well as the District Commander when there was a notable increase in crime in our city as a result of the state legislature’s passage of AB 109 and AB 117 – the early release of “non-violent” prisoners into our communities.
