Annual Meeting

We meet a requirement of our By laws which states that we are to conduct a meeting of our members at least annually.

Our Association’s annual meeting/membership drive is held in October or early November at the Catalina Verdugo Adobe or, more recently, in the community room of the First Congregational Church. This confluence of Woodlanders has expanded to include a catered lunch for members whose dues are current, terrific door prizes, a 50/50 drawing, a balloon artist, music, etc., etc. The newsletter announcing this event is sent to the 1,000 + households in the Woodlands. We never fail to increase our membership at this event and…..we have a grand time!

Wine Tasting

This has become an anticipated annual gathering for Woodland adults who have learned about and enjoyed various California wines in a friendly and informal atmosphere. Traditionally held in June in a member’s back yard, a local vintner displays and presents various California wines for our tasting. Delicious and varied appetizers are provided by Board members – and from anyone else who offers!  Our Fourth Annual Wine Tasting Event was Saturday, June 25 2016

2nd Annual National Night Out

Tuesday, August 2, 6 pm – 8 pm

Catalina Verdugo Adobe, 2211 Bonita Drive

National Night Out is an annual nationwide event held on the first Tuesday of August. Its purpose is to foster and enhance relationships among neighbors, raise crime prevention awareness and strengthen our interaction with our police department. Our homeowner association’s inaugural National Night Out last year was amazingly successful with 300+ attendees, who made new friends and visited with their neighbors on the grounds of our historic Adobe. We believe this year’s event will surpass our initial effort. Please plan on attending. Scheduled for your enjoyment:

  • The Grilled Cheese food truck, with their signature melt sandwiches: French Onion Soup Melt, Cheesy Mac & Ribs on French bread, Cheesy Mac Melt, etc.
  • Shaved Ice and Ice Cream truck with selections you won’t believe! Ice Cream sandwiches, various toppings, etc.
  • Live music by the Subs!
  • Tours of the Catalina Verdugo Adobe
  • Balloon artist for the children
  • Meet members of our police department

We ask that you please leave your pets at home for this event.

“Members of the Glendale Police Department understand that only through strong community support and participation can we reduce crime and improve safety and security for residents and visitors.”  Raul M. Castro, Glendale Chief of Police

Additional Meetings

Verdugo Woodlands Homeowners Association has hosted ad hoc meetings e.g., we have hosted the Glendale Police Dept. officers who patrol our area as well as the District Commander when there was a notable increase in crime in our city as a result of the state legislature’s passage of AB 109 and AB 117 – the early release of “non-violent” prisoners into our communities.
